Serving Tips

Expect a little snow: You may notice ice crystals or slight freezer burn on some portions. That’s completely normal. Because raw food has a high moisture content, even a small amount of air in the packaging can draw out moisture during freezing. It doesn’t affect safety—just appearance.

Not vacuum-sealed? Still safe. Big Country Raw uses thermoform packaging, where the food is portioned first, then sealed and frozen. Because the product isn’t frozen before packaging, some portions may not appear uniform in shape—and ground bone content can occasionally create micro-tears in the film. This is expected with thermoform packaging and does not compromise safety. All products are stored and transported frozen to preserve freshness and nutritional value.

Feeding tip: Rotate proteins regularly and supplement with omega-3s like Thrive Herring, Salmon, or Hemp Seed Oil to support your dog’s skin, coat, and overall well-being.
