The aroma can also vary slightly from batch to batch depending on the animal, its diet and other natural factors. Stronger-smelling tripe does not necessarily mean there is more tripe or that it is more beneficial to the dog.

Bone is an important part of prey-model feeding because it naturally provides minerals including calcium and phosphorus. You may sometimes see larger pieces of bone, especially from larger animals such as beef and bison. Raw bone is very different from cooked bone and is a natural component of a prey-based raw diet. Cooked bones should not be fed.

For portioning, feed according to your dog’s individual needs, including their weight, age, activity level and body condition. As a general starting point, adult dogs often eat around 2–3% of their ideal body weight per day, while puppies, highly active dogs and dogs with different metabolic needs may require more or less. Divide the daily amount into one or more meals and adjust over time based on your dog’s body condition, activity level and appetite.
