Carnivore Care Diatomaceous Earth (often referred to as “D.E.”) is an off-white, talc-like powder that is the fossilized remains of small aquatic creatures known as diatoms. These fossilized remnants are made primarily of silica, offering a non-toxic and effective method for both internal and external pest control through mechanical means. DE’s mineral content also makes it suitable for use as a dietary supplement.
DE is often used as a natural flea remedy! When the powder comes in contact with bug that has an exoskeleton (such as bed bugs, ants, or fleas) it compromises their waxy coating so that they dehydrate and die without the use of harmful pesticides. These properties make it harmless to mammals and other animals as it only harms bugs!
