Why use a Pancreas Supplement?
For pets with veterinarian-diagnosed malabsorption diseases such as pancreatitis or EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency), supplementing with digestive enzymes is essential, providing to the digestive process what an improperly functioning or non-functioning pancreas is unable to. *Pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy is recommended to treat EPI and resultant malnutrition.
Pets that are unable to properly absorb the nutrients they receive require supplementation with the 3 major digestive enzymes: protease to digest protein, amylase to digest carbohydrates, and lipase to digest fat. For most pets with pancreatitis or EPI, fats are the most difficult for the body to metabolize so adding lipase is crucial. Adding freeze-dried pork or beef pancreas, high in naturally-occurring digestive enzymes, is often recommended by veterinarians.

How to Feed:
Freeze-dried pancreas should be added to moistened, room-temperature food and allowed to incubate for 20 minutes to 1 hour prior to feeding for best results.
Whether a pet’s main diet is canned, kibble, gently cooked, or a fresh food raw diet, all benefit from freeze-dried pancreas added to their meals daily. This supplement is intended only for pets with EPI or pancreatitis, it is not recommended to be fed to pets as a preventative supplement.
